Cleaner, healthier water – Strong circulation keeps chemicals distributed evenly and water safe.
Energy efficiency – Modern variable-speed pumps can reduce energy bills by up to 70%.
Longer equipment life – Proper circulation reduces strain on filters, heaters, and plumbing.
Quieter operation – Advanced designs mean smoother, quieter performance.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY
Frustrated. We were wary of trying another pool company but after an extended illness over the holidays, our pool had turned green and needed a good cleaning that I just didn't have the time nor energy to do. We met with the owner and shared our prior experiences with companies that didn't communicate, didn't show up as promised and kept trying to upsell services that weren't needed. Owner looks at it - it's dirty but not unfixable. Water levels are great - no need to drain it (Yay!) and there were no chemicals in it at all. We felt like we were in good hands with all the reviews online and paid a deposit for them to begin the process.
Day 1: Tech shows up to start the process. He takes the filters out to clean them (we had requested that they be swapped with our spare cartridges but...) and when he reassembled it, he did not tighten the ring around the pump with a tool and then proceeded to panic that it was going to blow up. My husband took it apart, reassembled it, tightened it and it was good to go. There was no other brushing/cleaning that took place that day nor any chemicals added. The tech was insisting that our pump (4 years old) was going to blow up.
We spoke with the owner and tried again the next day.
Day 2: No cleaning the filters, minimal brushing and some chemicals. Leaves the pump at >3500rpm 24/7.
Day 3: Did not clean the filters or swap them, no brushing. Not sure what else was done but this is definitely not what we were told would happen.
The pump gets left on >3500rpm 24/7 for SIX DAYS STRAIGHT!!!! Day 6: I reach out to the owner again (I'm getting absolutely no communication from them other than me reaching out to them). The response was: 'We'll get you on today's or Tue schedule to do that. If you're home and can send a pic of pool for the color/clarity that would help too.'
Day 7: New tech comes, replaces cartridges, fixes the pump schedule back to normal, brushes it down.
Day 14: No further response, nothing from the company so I reach out AGAIN. He responds that they'll send someone out.
Day 15: Original tech is back (despite this being an issue). The pool doesn't look like it's been brushed, and now he's saying it needs a drain and rinse. Still no communication from the owner. I was really hoping for a good outcome but right now, I feel duped again.
Our records show 8 service visits over this period, and while we were working hard to get your pool right, my communication throughout was not where it needed to be. That's on me.
I'm glad we had the chance to speak this morning and come to an amicable resolution. I wish you all the best and hope your pool is back to perfect soon.

How to Install a Pool Pump in Oro Valley
Installing a pool pump is an essential maintenance task for homeowners in Oro Valley who want to keep their swimming pools clean, safe, and properly circulated. While the desert climate of Southern Arizona presents unique challenges for pool maintenance, understanding the proper installation process can help ensure your pool system operates efficiently for years to come. This comprehensive guide will walk you through the steps necessary to successfully install a pool pump in your Oro Valley home.
Understanding Your Pool Pump Requirements
Before beginning the installation process, it is crucial to understand the specific requirements of your pool system. The first step involves determining the correct pump size for your pool volume and plumbing configuration. In Oro Valley, where many pools experience higher evaporation rates due to the arid climate, selecting a pump with adequate horsepower is particularly important. Typically, residential pools require pumps ranging from one to two horsepower, though larger pools may need more powerful units. Additionally, you should verify that your electrical system can support the pump’s voltage requirements, which usually range from 115 to 230 volts.
Gathering Necessary Tools and Materials
Proper preparation is key to a successful installation. You will need several essential tools and materials before starting the project. These include PVC primer and cement, Teflon tape, adjustable wrenches, screwdrivers, wire strippers, electrical tape, and a voltage tester. Furthermore, ensure you have appropriate plumbing fittings, unions, and valves that match your existing pool plumbing system. Many Oro Valley residents find it helpful to purchase a complete installation kit from local pool supply stores, which often include all necessary components in one convenient package.
Preparing the Installation Site
The location of your pool pump is critical for both performance and longevity. Choose a level, well-ventilated area that is protected from direct sunlight when possible. In Oro Valley’s intense summer heat, pumps exposed to constant sun can overheat and experience reduced efficiency. The installation pad should be a solid, stable surface such as a concrete slab or pump stand that prevents vibration and movement during operation. Ensure the location allows easy access for future maintenance while keeping the pump at least several feet away from the pool to prevent water damage from splashing.
Disconnecting the Old Pump
If you are replacing an existing pump, begin by turning off all power to the pool equipment at the circuit breaker. This safety step cannot be overemphasized, as working with electrical components near water presents serious hazards. After confirming the power is off using a voltage tester, close the valves on both the suction and return lines to prevent water from draining. Carefully disconnect the electrical wiring, taking photos or labeling wires to ensure proper reconnection later. Next, remove the plumbing connections using appropriate wrenches, and lift away the old pump unit.
Installing the New Pool Pump
Position your new pump on the prepared pad, ensuring it sits level and stable. Most modern pool pumps come with mounting holes that should be secured to the pad using appropriate bolts or anchors. Once the pump is firmly in place, begin connecting the plumbing. Apply PVC primer and cement to all connection points, working quickly as these adhesives set rapidly in Oro Valley’s warm temperatures. Install unions on both the suction and discharge sides of the pump, as these will facilitate easier removal for future maintenance or repairs.
After the plumbing connections have cured according to manufacturer specifications, typically fifteen to thirty minutes, you can proceed with the electrical connections. Follow the wiring diagram provided with your pump, connecting the appropriate wires to the corresponding terminals. Use wire nuts and electrical tape to secure all connections, and ensure the pump is properly grounded according to local electrical codes. Oro Valley follows Arizona state electrical requirements, which mandate specific grounding procedures for pool equipment.
Testing and Priming Your New Pump
Before energizing the system, fill the pump strainer basket with water to prime the pump and prevent dry running, which can damage internal components. Replace the strainer lid, ensuring the o-ring is properly seated and lubricated. Open the suction and return valves slowly, checking all connections for leaks. Once you have verified that no leaks are present, you can restore power at the circuit breaker and turn on the pump. The pump should begin moving water within a few minutes. If it does not, you may need to repeat the priming process.
Final Considerations
Successfully installing a pool pump in Oro Valley requires attention to detail, proper materials, and adherence to safety protocols. While many homeowners can complete this project independently, do not hesitate to consult a licensed pool professional or electrician if you encounter difficulties or feel uncomfortable working with electrical systems. Regular maintenance of your newly installed pump, including cleaning the strainer basket and monitoring performance, will ensure optimal operation throughout Oro Valley’s extended swimming season. With proper installation and care, your pool pump will provide years of reliable service, keeping your pool crystal clear and inviting.
