It is if you have a spa, heater, lights or water features, or you’re away often. You can run the pump on off-peak schedules, heat the spa from your phone and spot problems sooner. For a simple pool with one pump, a programmed variable-speed pump may be enough.
Usually, yes. Most equipment pads can be retrofitted, and many older Pentair, Hayward and Jandy controllers have upgrade kits. Compatibility depends on your pump, heater and salt system, so we check the pad first.
Most often the controller’s Wi-Fi or network adapter lost its connection after a router change or power outage, or the app needs an update. Re-pairing usually fixes it. If the controller itself won’t respond, it may need service.
